| Booked my plane ticket and my hotel yesterday! I'm staying at the Park Inn which looks to be less than a 10 minute walk to the Clarion - and about half the price! I've never been to Norway or any foreign country besides Canada so I'm rather excited to say the least. I've always wanted to go and with student loans being paid off, finances finally allow it!!!
EDIT: It looks like the regular prices of the Clarion are about double the Park Inn but the Inferno special pricing is actually a good amount less. I have until March to cancel the hotel without penalty so if the Clarion has a great deal again this year I'll definitely be changing. |

Well, my first suggestion would have been to wait on the plane ticket. Airfare fluctuates quite a bit, and buying it this far out doesn't always mean the best price.
Out of curiosity, where are you flying from, who are you flying with and how much did you pay?
My second suggestion is that the festival hotel is well worth the money to stay there.
I don't think I'll be there this year due to finances, but will have to see.

Flying out of Logan Airport (Boston) - the tickets were $738 round trip. I'm going by myself at this point! |

I meant airline, not other humans.
That is an okay price, but you're coming from East cost. I've paid less flying from Seattle.

| | Icelandair. They seem to be the cheapest by far at the moment. If I see one of their special deals where I can save ~$100+ I'll just cancel my current reservation and rebook. |

| | I know that the hotel details for Inferno 2011 are going to be announced next month, but does anybody "in the know" (Lars?) know if the prices are going to be a lot higher this year for the official hotel? The Royal Christiania has been refurbished and their standard prices are a lot higher now than they were last year. It was a great hotel and very well located and I would like to stay at the official hotel again if possible, but I can't afford their standard prices. |
