Vicious Art are ok, a bit modern for my tastes tho'. Unfortunately as they have members of The Project Hate in them they'll bring along TPH fanboys who're often very very annoying (If you've ever met a Tool fanboy you'll have a similar idea).

Hoest said immediately afterwards that Taake is not a political band, some people just like pissing off liberal Germans.

Don't take this offensively but you're deluding yourself if you think there are no fads in Black Metal. 4 years ago every one was slapping on swastikas, churning out albums on Resistance and joining The Pagan Front. Now we've got Drudkh and Nargaroth saying they were never NS and next to no new NS bands coming from anywhere, The Pagan Front are virtually silent, hell even Temnozer are toning themsleves down. Then everyone bummed Velvet Cacoon until they found out they were a fraud and now everyone's cutting themsleves to trying and be like Kvarforth/Kim Carlsson. I'm not saying that these things will ever vanish entirely (that'd be totally retarded, even by my standards:p), just that they explode in numbers and popularity for a while then everyone finds something else "edgy" (because lets face it 90% of people who claim to be into this stuff are just doing it to try and appear more individual than they actual) to attach themselves to and the cycle repeats. In the fall out loads of bands that were the previous fad will try and distance themselves from it... if they continue to make music at all.

As for disclaimers: Nah, they're just cowards, if people are so convinced they're better than other people they should just say so. But we're not even talking about people on the street here (although where I'm from people threaten me for having long hair, so it wouldn't be any different anyway), we're talking about a form of music which is already offensive to most people anyway, if they're afraid of crossing some retarded super-taboo line and pissing off less than a dozen people then, as I see it, they've got no business making Black Metal in the first place.

Be Persecuted's an apt. name for orientals. I wouldn't disregard Hoest's use of the swastika as mere provocation unless I knew him personally and he said "I've not a racialist bone in me".

A fad? Cooommmee on! Common sense doesn't just happen to become un-cool. I can' agree with you on that one. Expressions of depression and racialism really can't be tagged as passing things.

On bands with disclaimers: it does take severe strength to claim, in public, that one's racialist views - I don't blame them. Could you wear a swastika shirt safely where you live? Maybe for a few blocks until some PCers or ethnics got you.

NCR also have a Chinese band on their roster (Be Persecuted), if they're NS they aren't doing a very good job of it. Same with Supernal, an NS label signing a blatantly PC band like The Meads isn't an especially good move

With regards to lyrics point taken... but I do love the little disclaimer in AT's insert (pussies). Also both AH and Slavia say they aren't political bands on their websites... again not that it matters, they'd still be good bands anyway.

Plenty of bands just use NS iconography to piss people off, take Taake's little incident in Germany for instance, hell even The Sex Pistols used to wear Swastikas. Besides the whole NSBM thing was just a fad anyway, now the bubble's burst bands are jumping the bandwagon. Suicide BM will go the same way.

The bands I know of on NCR are NS/racialist and I presmed from the name that they'd not like coloureds.

I used NM lyrics because I thought you were saying that NM weren't NS and providing AT lyrics wouldn't really prove my point that NM are NS. On AT's lyrics, I disregard lyrical skill for the subject matter. They can write English lyrics better than I can write any block-headed Slav. lyrics, you have to at least give them that respect.

On AH denouncing NSBM - I don't know what that's about. If he's attacking the sentiment, he's a hypocrite and fool. He was probably commenting on other bands. I wouldn't attack anyone fighting the fight.

Slavia don't seem overtly racist but my observation of the band as well as Disiplin and the old Resistance legions/chapters that their old website promoted seem preeeetty racial to me. More than those kids in the closet; Marduk. I don't buy that people use these icons for "general hate" and if they do, they should probably try a bit harder; like Maniac's back tattoo with every icon that he could find haha. There's what: a kike cstar, christian crucifix, nazi swastika, muslim moon - if I recall correctly. He needs a love heart and a skull, and a knife and a gun and a frowny face. That'd be a supremely contradictive and hateful tattoo.

No, I'm not reffering to NM, indeed I admire their persistence in sticking to their guns even though most bands have jumped off the NS bandwagon now it's not trendy As an aside: why on earth did you use the CotAS lyrics when you can use any number of the hilariously poor Aryan Terrorism Lyrics (and yes I am disregarding subject matter there, I swear a 5 year old wrote all AT lyrics).

Ad Hominem referred to NSBM as being for cowards and lifeloving pussies back when they had a myspazz (although he is racist as hell). Slavia on the other hand (unless I'm gravely mistaken) just hate everyone equally, they just use NS iconography, same as Disiplin, Marduk etc. ...not that it would matter a damn anyway, they're still a good band.

No Colours isn't an NS label either BTW (Kyrgyzstanis aren't good Aryans)

...those bands don't sound anything like NM... they aren't even NS for that matter Personally I could live without NM, I mean I'd see them anyway (especially if they played stuff of Twilightfall) but I personally felt they peaked too early with Goat Horns and got drab after that. Moria from Bulgaria are a good alternative for those who prefer older NM.

but Einherjer is a big pull for me! and Kamfar is adds a nice touch as well.

It wasn't the greatest but it was a decent gig (from the youtube footage I've seen, which was the entire show basically), I certainly wouldn't mind seeing them myself.

I don't think they're entirely a joke but I think you're correct in that some people (mainly Kim's fangirls) take them far too seriously. I really love the songs I've heard but I just know that once I get an album it'll be mostly decent but unremarkable.
