The good:

Behemoth, Overkill, Goat the Head, Corpus Scorpii, 1349 (with all sound problems), Satyricon (too loud, still fine), Tulus, Gorefest.

The bad:

Unleashed, Gorgoroth -for lackluster playing abilities-.

The Cult Is Alive was great, but I didn't like FOAD as much. But Darkthrone doesn't play live anyway, right?

I also saw a possible connection in Sodom last year, Destruction this and Kreator next. Wouldn't hurt to see Kreator again. Fucking awesome band!

And why doesn't quoting work anymore?

The top five for me were:

1)Behemoth
2)1349
3)Overkill
4)Cor Scorpii
=5)Gallhammer
=5)Satyricon

Okay, more of a top six but Satyricon did manage to impress me. I didn't expect more than a competent/workmanlike performance but they blew even Gorgoroth out of the water (I like Gorgoroth more, by the way). The addition of 'Hvite Krists Dod' was a nice surprise.

None of the acts I saw were in anyway that bad, but I'm sure Tristania sucked balls!

And FUCK Darkthrone!! Surely I'm not the only one who thinks they're a pile of donkey wank?!?!? Okay, 'Panzerfaust' and 'Soulside Journey' maybe but the rest?!

The be all end all of the fest for me was of course Gorgoroth.

When Overkill broke into 'Hello From the Gutter', I was in the photo pit, but I was singing along while shooting. I remember when that damned album came out.

Granted, due to running my *** off shooting, I typically only got to hear the first 3-4 songs for each band. Rather unfortunate, but that's how things go.

for me both headliners Satyricon and Gorgoroth were rather disappointing...

After all again I have to say that the Inferno again prooved the best "good bands ratio" of all festivals

Gorgoroth, Behemoth, 1349, Urgehal and Overkill (a plus for the active vocalist). I`d see Unleashed (2nd time) and Destruction, but those was borring in the lenght. saw some of Satyricon (Fuel for hatred), but not more..did`t see anymore band..too busy with drink beer and Jack daniel`s at the hotelroom on wedensday I try to come in on John dee, but the local was so fucking packed and the people who did stand in the cue/ake did`t come in. I walk to Rock In instead, a bit disappoint.

Red Harvest (Great performance but not such a great set-list IMO)
Negură Bunget
Axegressor
Cor Scorpii
Onslaught (although that was the weakest performance I've seen from them)
Behemoth
Gorgoroth
The Batallion
Obsidian Throne
Krux
Tulus (although they were pale in comparison to Khold)
Benighted (as a live act, wouldn't bother with their albums)
Den Saakaldte
Desecration
Unleashed (Not as good at last time I saw them tho')

Shining (better than London but still too focused on Kvarforth, who was better with Den Saakaldte)

The bad:
Tristania (They clearly have no faith in their new singer and their male singer was a joke of a frontman, bar Wykkid Wytch that was the worst live performance I've ever seen... and I've seen Deathstars)
Burst (they were trying too hard to be Dillinger and Neurosis at the same time)
Whip (Uninspired, bland and tame if you ask me)

The WTF?!:
Skitliv (although I did enjoy their set a lot... in a very strange way)

The Batallion, Shining and Destruction are my favorites from this festival. keep of Kalessin were awesome too. Pissed I didn't get to see Negura Bunget though.. Hope I'll get a chance some other time.

These bands are the ones I bothered paying attention to:

Vreid
Keep Of Kalessin
Cor Scorpii
Tristania
Behemoth
Gorgoroth
Krux
Benighted
Desecration
1349
Overkill

I've seen Vreid before, and I must say this show was rather a disappointment compared to last time. But it was ok.

I didn't have too high expectations for Benighted, as I'm no fan of death metal and don't know Benighted's music, but this was a pleasant surprise.

Overkill was ok. I did like their AC/DC cover.

If I am to pick one highlight from each day, I guess it'll be like this:

Wednesday: Keep Of Kalessin
Thursday: Behemoth
Friday: Benighted
Saturday: 1349

And the best moment of the entire festival was when Behemoth played "I Got Erection".

I wanted to see Sahg and Negură Bunget as well, but then I wouldn't have been able to see Vreid and Keep Of Kalessin. I also wanted to see Urgehal, but I've seen Urgehal before, so it's not a big deal.

So what's the line-up for next year's festival?

Behemoth, the Batallion, Satyricon and Overkill.
I did'nt see all of the John Dee Bands I wanted to see, though, because I'm a wee bit claustrophobic and it was always so f****** packed down there.

Unleashed were better than I expected, but thats maybe because I don't listen to their studio albums... but the gig was a great improvement to the last time I saw them live.

Inferno is now over, and I just came home... Fucking cold outside...

Anyways, which bands were you most pleased with this year. Who delivered the best concerts?

Of those I attended, my favorites were Goat the Head, Benighted, Overkill and Destruction.

It's a real shame that so many had left when Destruction played. When Satyricon played you could barely cross the room, now you could set up a tent if you wanted to.

And the most disappointing concerts were Gorefest and Unleashed... Expected a bit more after listening to their studio albums...
