It's been a while since I've been able to come to the festival, but the last time I was there I got to eat at a Lebanese restaurant not too terribly far away from the Rockefeller. Anybody know what it's called and if it's still around?

I thought it was pretty good. There was also one time that I got to eat at a pretty nice, mostly Italian restaurant called the Mona Lisa. First experience with reindeer. Killer.

Anybody else have any place that they like particularly enjoy?

Grindcore at the Inferno festival

Hello, people of metal!
We all know that Inferno is a extreme metal festival, and that it has bands from several sub-genres of metal.
Every year there are also at least one or two grindcorebands in the line-up. What does people here think about
this perticular genre? Favorite bands, albums and such? This year we are lucky to have the great Napalm Death
amongst the bands. Also we have Exhumed and Cease of Breeding (death/grind). This is looking very good!

Festival Hotel

How many metalfans out there are planning to stay at the official festival hotel during Inferno?
I hope there will be at least as much partying and great peoples as in the previous years!
Difference number one is of course that there is only one festival hotel, which is good in
many ways. It will be easier to socialize for both fans and musicians, and things wont be so
spread around. What concerns me the most is that Clarion Christiania is a smoke free hotel.
I don't know how many floors they have (10-15), but if you live in the 10th floor, you will have to
go all the way down to the lobby and out the main entrance to have a cigarette? o.O
That is insane, considering that about 80-90 % of metal fans are smokers, like it or not!

The good things about the hotel is for example metal radio 24/7 and a Inferno tv-channel among others.
I hope that as many as possible have the opportunity to live there during the festival. The
more metalheads, the more fun and partying! Last year we had about 20 people in our room
both before and after the concerts for vorspiel and nachspiels

And now, I am going high up in the mountains in northern Norway to freeze myself, and stay
frozen until it's almost time to go. The wait is literally killing me! Time will show if i can make it

Only a few days to go now!!

The wait is getting seriously painful, its just so much to look forward to >.<
Not looking forward to the 18 hours of train, but to once again arrive at Oslo s,
and check in at the hotel and then meet up with all the sick f***ers from
all over the world! I really have a good feeling about this years festival ^^

So... how to make this tread useful... hmm...
What are you going to drink at the festival (alcohol),
and will you be hitting the town much, or partying at the hotel?
(Because all metalheads drink alcohol, right? Of course!)

Første gang jeg er på Inferno, og har kanskje et noget kleint spørsmål. Hvordan har kjønnskvoteringa sett ut på de tidligere festivalene? Er nysingel etter sju år, så sosiale sammenhenger har naturligvis en litt annen dimensjon om dagen. Meget velkomment om det er mulig å bli kjent med ei jente eller fem i samma slengen.

Lost Car Keys Wednesday night!!

Well, now it´s all over, at least for this year. I just wanna say thanks for a great festival.

What was your hi´s and lo´s this year? A concert, a friendship? Maybe even love? haha..

For me, Benediction was the best moment of the festival. Just an amazing concert, even though Peters guitar had some problems. It just didnt matter, they just kicked some serious butt anyways.

Another Hi is also everyone I talked to during these days. I didnt meet one bad person, everyone was happy, friendly, and in the mood for metal!

Lo: The gruesome hangover every single day, and especially sunday! But what the hell, it was totally worth it!

Cant wait to hear the stories from you all!

John Dee Capacity?

According to the Inferno website, the capacity of the John Dee stage is 400? There are 1500 tickets for each day. This means that whenever any band is playing on the John Dee stage, only 400 of the 1500 people who have bought tickets are going to be able to watch them. Is this correct? Surely this is going to cause problems?

Heisann. Jeg lurer på hvordan det er med nagler ovs. Jeg er den som bruker nagler som dekker det meste av underarmen. Er skarpe nagler, men av de minste man får. Har også rundt halsen (som er litt lengre men veldig dårlig kvalitet) og et belte med skarpe nagler. Kan dette på noen måte føre meg i trøbbel? Eventuelt hvordan er det mer regler for nagler og sånt i de forskjellige klubbene?

Where to get a taxi?

When you are at Rockefeller, where is the closest "taxi-place"? (I don't know the English word for it; in Norwegian we say "taxiholdeplass"), or the nearest place I can get a hold of a taxi?

I will be staying in the outskirts of Oslo for this years festival, and I think taxi is the most effective way of travelling during the night. Since I'm crashing at a friends place, it will still be cheaper than renting a hotel-room. And during the day, I'll just use the subway or catch a bus from Kalbakken to the city.

Capacity for Rockefeller!?

Heey everyone

this may sound stupid but i have to know... if i was to get to Rockefeller on Saturday at 11:00pm or just before The Kovenant play, is there a chance the place will be full up and i may not get in!
I was wondering, as I do not know if the Capacity of the place is equal to that of all the ticket holders (for that day).

I can't see the other bands that are on before theKovenant as i have plans, but reeally need to see my favourite band on time.

Da drar undertegnede endelig på mitt livs første infernofestival, etter å ha planlagt å dra hvert år siden jeg ble gammal nok. Satt i dag og funderte over livets små problemer, en tankerekke som førte meg over til hvor ubalanserte temperaturforhold en blir utsatt for på innendørskonserter i Norge om vinteren. Så spørsmålet er altså hvorvidt det finnes mulighet for oppbevaring av ytterklær på konsertarenaene. Og hvor sikre er i såfall disse? Det er grusomt varmt med skinnjakke på konsert, og det er grusomt kaldt uten skinnjakke ute på gata.

Som en god venn av meg en gang sa; "Livet som rocker kan være jævlig hardt. Langt hår og skjegg er et helvete midtsommers og alle disse hølete buksene fører til at jeg fryser balla av meg hele vinteren".

Question about cameras

Hi. I was wondering what cameras are allowed to use inside the venue? The info page sais

"Private "normal" cameras are allowed. Proffessional cameras and video cameras are not allowed."

So how do you guys define "normal" and "professional" camera?
Does professional include all dSLR cameras, or just high end ones, or just zoom lenses?

Im asking because i have a normal Sony Alpha 300 with a standard 18-70mm lens, and need to know if i can use this one, or if i need to buy a shitty "normal" camera.
