...As you can see...
I was wondering what people consider is the best hostel/hotel to crash at while staying in Oslo.
Such as; Location to the Festival, cleansiness and of course PRICE!

This year i stayed at Sentrum Pensjonat [it was the cheapest at the time i was booking], i really liked it, it was clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful
also really close to the station =)

However, next year i was thinking of maybe trying another hostel, you know, see what else Oslo has to offer, see if there are better ones out there...

So any help or advice would be great!
Cheers

First of all, hell-ooooooooo there Australian girlie!! BigGrin Sorry if that greeting scares you, I'm Irish and that's the only one I know. Tongue On to your question, Anker Hostel is a great spot: close to the venue and quite cheap at about €22 per night. I stayed in Sentrum Pensjonat in 2007 'cos Anker was full, I quite liked it there....

...allo allo...
Not to worry you don't scare me, a rather friendly greeting you have =)

Yea when i went to book my hostel for this years Sentrum Pensjonat was cheaper at the time.
But from what i've heard the Anker Hostel is where most of the INFERNO guests stay.

Cheers, seems like it will be between those two in my books, and i'll just go for the cheapest at the time hehe

I've always been a believer in staying at the official hotels. I suppose they cost more but you get what you pay for in regards to the rooms, breakfast, internet as well as staying where everyone else is staying. Fuck walking from the official hotel, early in the morning, where one's friends are staying to some scummy hostel half an hour away.

...very true...
but i am a very broke person.
so the offical hotel is like not an option, especially for next yrs, hopefully for 2011 when i'll be making more money...
plus i like long walks at night lol
but yea would be better with everyone from the fest in one place
o well, u learn to live with what ya got =)

I wouldn't go taking walks around Oslo late at night if I was you. Ermm As for staying at the festival hotel, I hate to sound like a Jew here (and we all know how much Alastair loves Jews! Hehe ) but for the price of one night in a hotel you get the week (four sleeps) out of a hostel. For me, comfort and breakfast is not worth paying an extra €300 for - I'd have to sleep for the whole four days to get value from that! w00t

Hey,

I am from Australia too and I am wondering about accommodation as well? I will most likely just go for the deal shown on here but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Cheers

...G'day mate...
lol sorry couldnt help it =P
http://www.hostelworld.com/ is like my bible...
this yr i stayed at Sentrum Pensjonat, i love it.
the place connected to the festival always has like things happening there and like most of the people stay there, but in my case it costs to much money for me to afford, maybe one year lol
but i rather stay somewhere cheap
*Anker Hostel is the cheapest atm [$42AUD bt u gotta pay for bedding]
the cheaper the accommodation the more money u can spend on festival merch, site-seeing and tatts lol

Ahh cool. I don't mind paying the money for the hotel room to be honest. I'll see what happens anyways. Want to organize it quickly so I don't have to rush things at the last minute.

The good word from the doctor would seem to suggest that Oslo will once again be treated to my own unique brand of alcoholism! BigGrin

I would definetly say the ankor/sentral, the price is good and at least if we get a few of us in to the same hostel we can meet each other and have a few beers and crazy times!

Have any of you booked already?

Hail!!

For those of you who unfortunatly can't stay at the festival hotel, I would recommend the Anker Hostel.
Seems like quite a few people are staying there his year!
